In keeping with the idea of doing a Harvest Experiment, I offer you the preceeding Abraham quote. It is a concept that I think Westerners, in particular, struggle with...how can writing a list make a difference? Don't I need to get out there and make things happen? You know, do something?!
Well, The Placemat Process doesn't say you won't do anything, it's just that as you practice this process you will become clearer about what it is you desire/need--so your actions will be better informed. Just the process of writing out a list will tend to force you to get more clarity around the issue of what you actually want. You can also pay attention to how you feel as you do the process. Personally I experience a sense of relief in knowing that I have help in attracting what I need and I don't have to do it all by myself. You may remember that I blogged earlier about having an aspect of you that exists in Non-Physical right now. If that is a new concept for you, if you have thought your Soul, Higher Self, Golden Angel, Ralph or whatever you call that piece of you that is immortal and at one with Source at all times, is offline until you die--consider looking at that concept again. That aspect of you shifts vibrationally as you have a desire and becomes the non-physical vibration of your new desire. As a result of that shift you will experience an emotion--joy, passion, or love are indicators that you are well aligned vibrationally with the new desire (See Chapter 22 of the book Ask & It Is Given). The lower vibration emotions (doubt, worry, fear, powerlessness) are indicators from your Non-Physical Self that you are not in alignment with what you truly desire. The process of figuring out what you want and assigning the things that overwhelm you to the Universe, allows you to soften your fear, doubt, etc--what Abraham refers to as resistance. And that allows for your good to flow to you in a faster, more effortless way.
The second thing you need to know about doing less this month is that Mercury is going retrograde on the 11th of October through to the first of November. Mercury will not clear its retrograde shadow until about the 22nd of November. I can hear some of you groaning already. Mercury retrogrades are a time when taking stock and figuring out what is working for you and what isn't, is key. The more you try to force your will on situations, the more frustrated you are likely to be, since Mercury retrogrades are notorious for snarled communications, car troubles, computer breakdowns, etc. So, consider trying the experiment--it can't hurt, right? And who knows, you might find a way up, over, and around the challenges of the Mercury retrograde while barely lifting a finger.
